Farm Pond Management

Farm ponds are very important to land owners and anglers in West Virginia. They provide some of the most productive and exciting fishing opportunities in the state. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and the West Virginia University Cooperative Extension Service work together to provide information and guidance on stocking appropriate fish species and management options.

Contact the district fisheries biologist closest to you or visit the WVU Cooperative Extension web site at www.wvu.edu/~agexten/aquaculture.

For information and technical assistance about pond construction, contact the closest United States Natural Resources Conservation Service.
