New Year’s Eve Bluegrass/Country Bash at Hawks Nest State Park

Highland Grass, a bluegrass / country band based in the Potomac Highlands, will “pick-in” the new year at Hawks Nest State Park near Ansted in Fayette County. According to Willa Grafton, Hawks Nest programmer, “We didn’t have any bells to ring out the old year, so we decided some pickin’ and grinin’ was a great way to begin 2008. This is a great group.”

The evening is packaged and starts with dinner at 8 p.m. with a choice of three entrees served with baked potato, salad and dessert. Highland Grass performs at 10 p.m. through midnight. The package includes party favors, refreshments and door prizes.

The restaurant will be open for anyone looking for a quiet celebration. Reservations are recommended for dinner only. Overnight reservations include the dinner and entertainment

“This celebration is more about good food and good music,” Grafton adds. “Toe tapping will probably give away to clogging, line dancing and great fun. We hope people come to have a good time at Hawks Nest or any of our state parks for New Year’s.”

For New Years reservations at Hawks Nest Lodge, call 304-658-5212 direct or 800-CALL WVA and ask for Hawks Nest. Additional information about Hawks Nest is online at www.hawksnestsp.com .
