Country Music Rising Star Billy Payne to Perform At Pipestem Resort State Park August 11

Billy Payne is an up and coming name in country music and is scheduled to perform at Pipestem Resort State Park this Saturday, August 11. A native of Kincaid, West Virginia, Payne is one of several country music artists on tour as ‘Spirit of the Outlaws’ with a national kick-off in September in San Marcos, Texas.
Pipestem Activities Coordinator Jeff Mullens is pleased to have scheduled Billy Payne to perform at Pipestem’s amphitheater. “He is an up-and-coming country music singer from West Virginia. It’s not every day I get the opportunity to introduce a new country singer to our Pipestem stage. If you like the Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash traditional country musical style, people attending this event will definitely like Billy Payne.”
Pipestem Resort State Park is located between Athens and Hinton West Virginia on Route 20. The state park offers lodge/hotel, camping, golf, hiking, restaurants, and nature and recreational activities. The park is open year-round.
The remaining amphitheater events for the 2007 season, in addition to Nashville Recording Artist Billy Payne, includes Everett Lilly and the Lilly Mountaineers (bluegrass) on August 18 and The Esquires/Rock ‘n Roll Oldies Car Show on August 25. Tickets are $6 - $10 per person depending on the show. All shows begin at 8:00 p.m.
Pipestem amphitheater is a 525-seat complex with the hillside seating as necessary. Alcohol is not permitted at the events. Tickets are available for purchase daily from 12:30 to 4:30 at the park Nature Center or by phoning 304-466-1800.
