Rick Knotts Appointed General Manager of Chief Logan Lodge, Hotel and Conference Center and Sean Pettrey Appointed Assistant Superintendent of Holly River State Park

The Parks and Recreation Section of the Division of Natural Resources has announced the appointment of Rick Knotts as general manager of Chief Logan Lodge, Hotel and Conference Center in Logan County and Sean Pettrey as assistant superintendent of Holly River State Park in Webster County.

  "I am gratified that two individuals of this caliber were available for these key positions,” stated Ken Caplinger, acting chief of West Virginia State Parks. “I know that they will do exceptionally well in maintaining and advancing the high standards for which West Virginia State Parks are known. Our parks can only be as good and successful as the people who staff them. Luckily, whether they are managers, housekeepers, maintenance, food service, clerical, or other type of staff we have some of the very finest employees anywhere, public or private.”

• Rick Knotts began working in the West Virginia State Parks System in 1976. He previously served as acting superintendent of Chief Logan State Park; assistant superintendent of North Bend, Babcock and Pipestem Resort state parks; and was also superintendent of North Bend State Park. For the past several years Knotts wasa regional manager of Arizona State Parks. Knotts received a bachelor’s degree from Shepherd University.
• Sean Pettrey has been with the West Virginia State Parks System since 1998. He previously served as activities coordinator for Hawks Nest State Park. In 1999, he was named Employee of the Quarter for his exceptional work. Pettrey received a bachelor’s degree in Travel Industry Management with a concentration in Park and Resort Management from Concord College.
