Hawks Nest State Park Dinner Theaters

Enjoy a night of entertainment at Hawks Nest State Park near Ansted, West Virginia, as they present dinner theaters sure to delight guests of all ages. Cost for the dinner theater only is $38.66 per adult and $25.16 per child. Package price of $129.96 includes dinner for two, theater for two, overnight lodging and a 10 percent gift shop discount. Dining room opens at 6 p.m., dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and performances will begin between 7:30 to 8 p.m. Seating is pre-assigned with four people to a table. Gigi Sharp and The Meringues have done it again – their newest song, “Sweet Sugar,” is a hit single, topping the charts! And, Gigi has just been nominated for a Grammy award for the song. They are touring the nation, promoting their new album and have come for a press conference. But one member of the entourage has murder on his or her mind. Join us for an evening of music and maybe even murder as we meet The Meringues.

Kate Long and Robin Kessinger -- Singers, Songwriters and Musicians

Together, these two native West Virginians create magic. Robin Kessinger is a national flat pick guitar legend and Kate Long is a nationally known songwriter and storyteller. Their program will help you see the extraordinary in the ordinary, make you laugh and cry, and stir you spiritually. Join them for an evening of Appalachian-rooted music that will move your soul.

Comedy Magician John Slicer

Since 1991, Slicer has delivered his unique style of magic and laughter to hundreds of companies throughout the U.S. and Mexico . Tonight, Slicer will entertain you with his close-up, sleight-of-hand magic as well as his full stage show. During dinner, Slicer will visit as many guests as possible at their tables for a few minutes of mystery right in front of their eyes. Following dinner, Slicer will take the stage for an hour of magic, laughter and audience participation guaranteed to entertain and amaze.

Jim Truman -- Singer, Songwriter and Comedian

A native of Morgantown , Jim incorporated music into his act as a professional comedian in the ’80s and launched into the coffeehouse-festival scene in the ’90s. Jim has opened for Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, and Roseanne, as well as Steven Stills, Leon Russell and Doc Watson. He is a versatile guitarist, who plays anything from folk to blues to classic country. His version of the "West Virginia Hills" is used in a multimedia feature about our state on the New York Times Web page. It is also on a CD of West Virginia artists called "The Road Home." His humor is evident in his original songs, including his parody “Squirrels Just Want to Have Fun.”

“Songs from West Virginia and Beyond” -- Heidi Muller and Bob Webb

Heidi Muller is an award-winning songwriter, guitarist and mountain dulcimer player who has performed for more than 25 years throughout America . Bob Webb has played cello and guitar since childhood, and dulcimer and mandolin for more than 20 years. He was a founding member of the band “Stark Raven” which went on to become the house band for the syndicated Public Radio show Mountain Stage. Join them for an evening of original songs and traditional tunes featuring Heidi's crystalline vocals, plus guitars, Appalachian dulcimers, mandolin and electric cello.
