Tygart Lake State Park Hosts Canine Search and Rescue Training October 28, 2006

GRAFTON, W.Va. - Tygart Lake State Park near Grafton in Taylor County offers an interactive day of canine rescue training on October 28 from noon to 3 p.m.

  This adult-oriented day of activities and training includes information about canine search and rescue in the areas of track training, air scent, cadaver demonstration, distance direction, bark barrels and communications.

 “During this event, participants will have an opportunity to watch and assist with training techniques,” says Mary Kay Stover, naturalist and program coordinator at Tygart Lake State Park.  “Question and answer sessions are also available with handlers who have years of experience and expertise in wilderness search and urban disaster response.”
