Cacapon Resort State Park Marks Its Lodge's 50th Anniversary with Special Savings and Activities

Berkeley Springs , W.Va. - In honor of the 50 th anniversary of Cacapon Resort State Park 's lodge, the park will be offering special savings and activities on June 30, 2006 .

  “The public is invited to take a step back in time and join us for a celebration of the 1956 dedication of Cacapon's lodge,” Superintendent Tom Ambrose says.

  On this day, Cacapon Resort will be rolling back prices throughout the park—boat rentals will be 50 cents per person, greens fees will be reduced 50 percent for the day (this will not include golf carts) and the dining room will be reducing the prices for breakfast and lunch. A special menu with a 1950s theme will be available.

  Visitors will be able to enjoy games and activities that will reflect the 1950s throughout the day: an antique car show in the afternoon; a 1 p.m. welcome; an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:30 p.m. in the Washington/Fairfax rooms with refreshments; and entertainment immediately following the ceremony. Door prizes will be drawn during the evening entertainment.
