Dave Lombardo Appointed as West Virginia State Parks

District 2 Administrator

  The West Virginia State Parks section of the Division of Natural Resources is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Lombardo as district administrator for District 2. His appointment was effective June 1, 2006.

 

  “Dave Lombardo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new post,” said Acting State Parks Chief Ken Caplinger. “He has been asked to emphasize delivery of top quality recreational experiences to the public through high standards of facility appearance and function as well as fiscal efficiency at the areas within District 2.”

 

  The district includes Audra, Babcock, Beech Fork, Blennerhassett Island Historical, Carnifex Ferry Battlefield, Cedar Creek, Holly River, Prickett's Fort, Tomlinson Run, Tu-Endie-Wei, Valley Falls and Watters Smith Memorial state parks; Cabwaylingo, Coopers Rock, Kanawha and Kumbrabow state forests; and Plum Orchard Wildlife Management Area.

 

  A graduate of Fairmont State College, Lombardo has been with the West Virginia State Parks System for more than 31 years. He formerly served as assistant superintendent of Tomlinson Run State Park , superintendent of Audra State Park and superintendent of Prickett's Fort State Park.  

 

  The West Virginia State Park System consists of an impressive network of state parks, forests, wildlife management areas and rail trials to preserve regions of natural wonder, scenic beauty and historical significance. With 49 areas, visitors are invited to come, escape and relax in mountain splendor while enjoying the great outdoors.
