Summer Outdoor Amphitheater Series at

Pipestem Resort State Park

 

  Bring the whole family out for the 2006 Summer Outdoor Amphitheater Series at Pipestem Resort State Park in Summers County . Various theatrical and musical performances are featured for June through August. The Outdoor Amphitheater seats 525 people with approximately 1,000 additional seats on the hillside for blankets or chairs. Performances start at 8 p.m. and end approximately at 10 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Feature Performances

JUNE 3 -- Jack and the Giant

Hinton Area Elementary Kids in Dramatic Studies (KIDS)

 

Enjoy this family friendly production of “Jack and the Giant” presented by KIDS. All proceeds benefit local Hinton children's theater. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

JUNE 10 -- East River Mountain Town Band

Hear a great community band perform an eclectic mix of classical, popular, patriotic, and concert band music. Admission is free.

 

JULY 1 -- The Emeralds Show Band

This group plays classic rock, rock 'n' roll, beach music, soul, pop tunes, vintage and jazz. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

JULY 8 -- Bluegrass and Gospel Festival

Music that benefits the local Special Olympics. Sponsored by Pipestem Resort State Park . Expect to see several musical acts from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

JULY 15 -- Rick K and the Allnighters

These exciting young men have performed their high energy blend of rock 'n' roll oldies, country and pop to delighted audiences across the country. A true variety show, the band's comedy, crowd participation and great music are perfect for all ages. The showmanship and charisma of these dynamic performers overflows into the audience who become part of the show while they relive their favorite hits from yesterday and today. Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Advance tickets: $8 for adults and $4 for children 5 and under.

 

JULY 22 -- Everett Lilly and the Lilly Mountaineers

West Virginia natives, the Lilly Brothers originally debuted in 1938 singing old-time country on a West Virginia radio station. Since then, they have performed in a variety of venues nationally and internationally. Everett Lilly has recorded with known artists such as Vassar Clements, Charles River Valley Boys, Jim Rooney, Bill Keith and of course, his sons, the Lilly Brothers. Join them for an evening of traditional bluegrass music. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

JULY 29 -- Phil Dirt and the Dozers

Come join Phil Dirt & The Dozers on America 's hottest rock 'n' roll journey and ride the roller coaster of pop rock hits performed live on stage. Everyone—young and old— has fond memories of these fantastic songs and the Dozers energetic and professional show bring back those days of fun, love and happiness. Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Advance tickets: $8 for adults and $4 for children 5 and under.

 

AUGUST 5 -- Hillbilly Gypsies

The Hillbilly Gypsies are a West Virginia native string band whose members specialize in playing their own homegrown style of Appalachian old time music, mixed with a hard drivin' bluegrass sound. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

AUGUST 12 -- The Collegians

Don't miss this amphitheater favorite! Entertaining for more than 30 years, this band is known for its beach music sound. Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Advance tickets: $8 for adults and $4 for children 5 and under.

 

AUGUST 19 -- Carroll Roberson (Gospel Band)

Regarded as one of the purest voices in gospel music, Carroll Roberson's music has become some of the most listened to in the nation. His recordings are aired on radio stations across the nation and he has his own television program that is viewed throughout the world. Carroll has received numerous awards for his recordings. Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Advance tickets: $8 for adults and $4 for children 5 and under.

 

AUGUST 26 -- The Van-Dells/Rock 'n' Roll Oldies Car Show

Come and experience what everyone is talking about! The most requested act at Pipestem. Spend the day viewing beautiful vintage cars and the evening listening to oldies pop and rock classics. Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Advance tickets: $8 for adults and $4 for children 5 and under.
