North Bend State Park Offers Warm Atmosphere for Getaways

Cairo , W.Va . - North Bend State Park 's 29-room lodge now features a wood-burning fireplace in the lodge lobby that replaces the gas logs that have been in use for the past several years.

  “One of the first comments I heard when becoming a superintendent at North Bend State Park is that guests want the wood-burning fireplace back,” Superintendent Steve Jones says. “The new fireplace further enhances the cozy ambiance of the lodge's lobby.”

  The first official wood fire was lit on January 20 for the start of the annual Winter Wonder Weekend. The fireplace will be lit in the evenings starting around 3 p.m. during cool weather.

  Guests are invited to enjoy dinner in the glass enclosed restaurant with Chef Ingel and his staff and relax during the evening by the wood fire.
