Spooky Special Activities for Halloween in West Virginia State Parks

 

  Several special activities will be going on in West Virginia State Parks for Halloween.  The following parks will have special activities on the weekends leading to Halloween.

 

•  Tomlinson Run State Park will be featuring Halloween hayrides through the haunted campground on the weekend of October 21-23, beginning at dusk. Rides will be $2 per person.  For more information, contact Tomlinson Run State Park at (304)-564-3651.

 

•  Blackwater Falls State Park will be hosting a Halloween Party on October 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m.   Lots of spooky fun, including costume judging (for children 12 & younger), a haunted house and refreshments for the whole family. This event is free of charge. For more information, contact Paulita Cousins at (304)-259-5216.

 

•  North Bend State Park will host a Halloween Party on October 29, from 1-3 p.m.   Celebrate Halloween with refreshments, candy, fun games, costume judging and a scream contest. This event is free of charge. For more information, contact the North Bend Activities Coordinator at (304)-643-2931.

 

•  Kanawha State Forest will feature the Great Pumpkin Race on October 29.  Sponsored by CAMC Physical Therapy Department.   Shelter #9.  Registration is 8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.   5k race, 3- and 1-mile walks, and wheelchair race.  Awards will be given in various categories; also, there will be door prizes.  First 200 participants will receive a t-shirt.  There is a pre-registration fee of $15 before October 22, and a registration fee of $20 on the day of the event. Proceeds benefit the Physical Therapy Scholarship Fund.
