Margaret Dennison Fall Nature Walks at Kanawha State Forest

September 10

 

Charleston , W.Va. -Join the Kanawha State Forest Foundation and Kanawha State Forest as they sponsor a late summer view of nature at the Margaret Dennison Fall Nature Walks on Saturday, September 10, 2005 .

 

  Knowledgeable leaders will point out the brilliant colors of goldenrod, aster, lobelia, cardinal flower and many more. Learn to identify fungi, trees, bird songs, butterflies and other insects. Hands-on lesson in stream life will also be available. Specific hikes will include fall wildflowers, fungi, pond/aquatic life, birds, trees and nature photography.

 

  Registration will start at 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the swimming pool shelter area in Kanawha State Forest . Walks will begin at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for persons under 16.
