DNR LAW ENFORCEMENT SECTION FILES LEGISLATIVE RULE FOR REVIEW

The Law Enforcement Section of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has filed a legislative rule with the Secretary of State’s Office, according to Major D. E. Murphy, Assistant Chief of the Division’s Law Enforcement Section. The proposed rule will be open for review and written comment until 9:30 a.m. on July 29, 2005 . The availability of the proposed rule will be advertised in the State Register. In addition, the proposed rule will be available for review at each DNR District Law Enforcement office and the Charleston office. Individuals interested in reviewing the rule should contact the Law Enforcement Section staff at these offices.

Written comments may be submitted to Major D. E. Murphy, Assistant Chief, Law Enforcement Section, Capitol Complex, Building 3, Room 840, Charleston , WV 23305 .

After the public review and comment period closes, July 29, 2005, appropriate changes will be made to the proposed rule and they will be re-filed by DNR for action by the Legislative Rule Making Committee prior to the 2006 Session of the West Virginia Legislature.

Commercial Whitewater Outfitters

This rule outlines changes in the requirements for commercial whitewater outfitters. The proposed amendment makes minor technical changes, decreases the whitewater study fee from 50 cents to 35 cents, and adds two additional sections that will permit whitewater outfitters to rent certain equipment without having to provide guides and trip leaders.
