Summer Outdoor Amphitheater Series at Pipestem Resort State Park

  Bring the whole family out for the 2005 Summer Outdoor Amphitheater Series at Pipestem Resort State Park in Summers County . Various theatrical and musical performances are featured for June through August. The Outdoor Amphitheater seats 525 people with approximately 1,000 additional seats on the hillside for blankets or chairs. Performances start at 8 p.m. and end approximately at 10 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Feature Performances

•  June 4- “Fiddler on the Roof” by Hinton Area Elementary Kids in Dramatic Studies (KIDS)

Enjoy this family-friendly production of “Fiddler on the Roof” presented by the highly talented KIDS and benefiting local Hinton theater. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

•  June 11 - East River Mountain Town Band

Hear a great community band perform an eclectic mix of classical, popular, patriotic and concert band music. Admission is free.

•  June 18 – Three River Avian Center's Birds of Prey Education Program

Live birds of prey native to West Virginia, including hawks and owls. Free admission. This program replaces the previously-announced Bluegrass and Gospel Festival.

 

•  June 25 – The Challengers

Enjoy a wide variety of music including the strong harmonies of oldies and the genuineness of country. Thrill to a capella numbers and patriotic performances. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

•  July 2- The Outsiders featuring Sonny Geraci

The Outsiders recorded for Capitol Records, turning out four Top 40 hits including “Time Won't Let Me,” “Respectable,” “Girl in Love,” and “Help Me Girl.” Sonny's biggest hit was “Precious and Few.” Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Advance tickets are available.

•  July 9 - The Fox Brothers

Straight from Nashville , this group received the Christian Country Music Association's 2001 Entertainer and Group of the Year. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

•  July 16- The Van-Dells

Experience what everyone is talking about! This is the most requested act at Pipestem. Oldies presented with fun. Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Advance tickets are available.

  

•  July 23 – Double Take

The most complete variety show you've ever seen! Expect audience participation. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

•  July 30 – Julie Adams & Friends

For 13 years Julie Adams has been the featured vocalist for the nationally syndicated “Mountain Stage” radio show. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

•  August 6 – L'Angelus

Energy, enthusiasm and versatility featured in a favorite Wal-Mart commercial. These four family members have fun! Mother Linda is the mother of seven. This is the best family group in the US today. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

•  August 13 – The   Dixie Melody Boys

Singing gospel music across the nation for more than 40 years, this group spreads the message of Christ and enjoys more than 20 Top 40 Hits. Show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

 

•  August 20 – The Collegians

Don't mess with this Amphitheater favorite! Oldies and beach music are the specialties of this big draw! Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 children age 6-12 and free for children five and younger. Advance tickets are available.

 

•  August 27 – Rock 'n' Roll Oldies Car Show

 Enjoy rock ‘n' roll oldies and a car show perfect for all ages. Event starts at 1 p.m. and lasts until 4:30 p.m.

 

•  August 27- The Esquires

Their music represents '60s rhythm and blues.  Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 children age 6-12 and free for children five and younger. Advance tickets are available.
