Appalachian Heritage Weekend at Pipestem Resort State Park

March 18-20

 

  Pipestem Resort State Park in Summers County, West Virginia, will be hosting an Appalachian Heritage Weekend from March 18-20, 2005 .

 

  This event will start on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with traditional Appalachian dancing with Lou Maiuri. Saturday's activities will include hands on experience with folk toys, a session on plants and animals of the Appalachians with samples available, handmade crafts on display, a continuation of folk dance lessons with Lou Maiuri and live music preformed by The Lilly Mountaineers. Sunday will feature an experience in the 1920s through the recorded songs and writings of musician/preacher Alfred Reed.

 

  The package price of $148.50 for single or $179.28 for double occupancy includes all activities, two nights of lodging and Saturday evening dinner. Package price without overnight accommodation is $30.78 per person.
